I thought I wasn’t making enough art… I was wrong

Hi Reader,

For the past 5 years or so I’ve told myself I didn’t have enough time for my art.

Between motherhood, a changing schedule, and trying to squeeze it in wherever I could, it felt like I wasn’t really making progress.

And honestly, after years of rejection, it was easy to believe that story.

But recently, I pulled out my work to start applying for opportunities here in Calgary… and I had a completely different realization.

I’ve actually made a lot more art than I gave myself credit for.

Not only that, but I had started multiple series. Work that felt disconnected at the time, but now I can see how it’s all related.

That shift changed how I see my practice entirely.

In this new video, I’m sharing:

  • why having multiple art series is actually a strength,
  • how to start recognizing the through line in your work,
  • and why not finishing everything you start might not be the problem you think it is.

If you’ve ever felt like your work is all over the place or like you need to “figure out your style” before you can take yourself seriously, I think this will resonate.

You can watch the video here.

And as you watch, I’d love to know:

Do you feel like you have too many ideas… or not enough direction?

Remember: proudly call yourself an artist.
Together, we are Artist Strong.

P.S. While my live workshop From Reference to Real has now passed, you can still invest in the replay. It's the kind of workshop where you pause and apply the lessons learned while you watch. Check it out here.
